LX Intra Club at Olton on 7th Oct 2015

This was the 5th annual Intra Club Day at Olton and, as in previous years, was once again very well supported.

33 LX players, and 7 non LXers( as potential new members) also joined us. An LX umpire too---thanks to Graham Reynolds who officiated for the full two and a half hours.

And 10 wives sat through it all, despite the gloomy weather.

Good to see Ray and Margaret Jeff, and also Steve Floyd from England Hockey.

This was THE place to be for anyone involved in hockey.

In fact, after 2 days of rain, the conditions were pretty much perfect to play hockey in. No excuses there.

We had 3 Teams, and 6 sessions of 20 minutes each. With the reserves, this gave everyone their statutory 70 minutes hockey. Only fair, as players travelled from the extremes of the North West, North East, East, West and South. It sometimes amazes me just how far we will travel for some good quality Masters hockey.

And the quality was good. The play was end to end. Everyone got involved.

Whilst everyone enjoyed a chicken curry plus choice of pud, the scores were collated, the handicapping system applied and the points ratified, and by some amazing good fortune, or simply showing just how well the 3 teams were balanced, each team had a final score of 547.365.

Everyone was happy. The hockey had been good. The food was good. Our LX family enjoyed each others company, and the wives were able to have a good natter.

Just perfect !
