weather was beautiful, if a shade too hot, but the excellent facilities and
water-based pitch at the Sonning location encouraged all to consider how nice
hockey can be in these summery conditions.
The LX team got off to a ‘not uncommon’ shaky start, and

the scoring was complete when the home team were correctly awarded a penalty

The day was completed by some superb hospitality from
and Keith Hunt, the Match Manager, was very warmly thanked by Brian Perryman
for the outstanding arrangements.
Many thanks go to Dave and Judy Robson for their
fine umpiring, and it was good to see John Miller amongst the spectators, well
recovered from his knee operation, and acknowledgement is made to all the wives
who came along to support.
